TRUST AND VERIFICATION

Seven badges, a documented rubric, and an audit log.

Every trust badge on Catylst is earned through documented review. No paid placement, no black box, no approval-by-vibes — just rubrics, artifacts, and reviewer attestations.

Verification flow

From unclaimed profile to verified organization.

Four steps, documented at each stage. No black box, no approval-by-vibes, no AI shortcuts on the critical path.

  1. Claim the profile

An authorized representative claims the organization's profile using a verified work email and two-factor authentication. Unclaimed profiles are read-only.

  2. Submit the artifacts

Upload audited financials, board governance documents, impact reports, and any endorsements. Catylst guides you with a checklist of exactly what each badge requires.

  3. Structured review

A Catylst reviewer walks the artifacts against the documented rubric for each badge. No AI shortcuts, no black box. Questions go back to the organization in-platform.

  4. Earn the badges

Badges are awarded one at a time as their criteria are met. Every badge carries the date of award, the rubric version, and the reviewer attestation — visible to donors.

Disclosures

Three commitments we make to donors.

Audit logs, opt-in faith review, and a hard no on paid placement — explicit so nothing has to be read between the lines.

  • Every action is audit-logged

Profile edits, document uploads, badge awards, and reviewer decisions are written to a hash-chained audit log. Donors can inspect the verification history for any organization — not just the current badge state.

  • Faith review is opt-in and disclosed

Organizations may request review by a denominational or network endorser. The endorser, rubric, and date are recorded on the profile so donors see exactly who vouched and on what basis. Skipping faith review has zero impact on other badges.

  • Badges are never for sale

Catylst does not sell badges, rankings, or placement. Organizations don't pay for verification — they earn it through documented review. Donors never see paid placement masquerading as trust.

Frequently asked

The questions we hear most.

By submitting documented artifacts against a published rubric — audited financials, board governance documents, impact reports, and so on. A Catylst reviewer walks the artifacts against the rubric and awards the badge when the criteria are met.

No. Badges are never sold and never awarded for advertising spend. Catylst also does not sell placement, rankings, or sort-order boosts. The only way a badge is awarded is through the documented verification review.

Faith review is an optional badge earned by recorded endorsement from a denomination or network. It is opt-in, disclosed on the profile (endorser + rubric + date), and skipping it has zero effect on the other six badges.
